Al Muweila

Al Muweilah was a historic coastal settlement overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba. Once an important stop along regional trade and pilgrimage routes, it was known for the remains of its Ottoman fort and its long connection to maritime life. The community has since been fully resettled. These photographs were taken during the relocation process, as homes and local structures were gradually being cleared.
